I bought my first orchid
when I was eight. I made
my first daylily crosses
when I was 14 and became
much more interested a
year later after I was
able to successfully
propagate some of the
resulting seeds from
those crosses. A trip to
Jack Carpenter’s Lily
Farm in June 2005
ultimately led to the
creation of Rush Creek
Gardens in 2008 (with
much assistance from my
parents
—$$$)
