HCMG Greenhouses – Located adjacent to the Kerr County AgriLife Extension Office, 3775 Highway 27 in Kerrville. The greenhouses are the primary source of income for HCMG operating expenses. The greenhouse committee and volunteers grow plants for our annual spring sale. The committee selects plants that are recommended for our area including native and adapted plants suitable for landscape and container use. Our capacity is currently 1200 – 1500 plants. Volunteers in the greenhouse gain practical experience in plant selection and cultivation. Opportunities in plant care include potting, watering, labeling, weeding, deadheading, grooming and detection of pests and diseases. Greenhouse maintenance and improvements are often accomplished by volunteers. We are licensed and inspected by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
