Gardening in the Texas Hill Country

Many problems have been thought through while digging in the dirt.

Bright Colors

I love color, so I strive for lots of it along with plants that do well in my area. The blue of Agapanthus africanus is striking. I grow them in the ground, and they always come back.

This is one of the sunflowers in the "Autumn Beauty" mix from Wildseed Farms. I grew up in Kansas, and this is just a different twist on the Kansas Sunflower.    Mealy Blue Sage (Salvia farinacea) is one of the "tried and true" plants of the Hill Country. The deer don't bother the mealy sage or any of the sages, for that matter.
This daylily has lots of color; I wish I knew its correct name!
