Master Gardeners work
diligently from early spring to late fall to propagate and
tend the plants in the greenhouse. Annual
plant sales fund the Hill Country Master Gardener projects
in Kerr, Bandera, Gillespie, and Kendall Counties. Money
raised from the sale of our own HCMG-made rain barrels
funds our annual scholarship awards. |

Annual
Spring Plant and Rain
Barrel Sale
Saturday, April 9, 2011
has come and gone!
|
|
It was a beautiful
Saturday for a plant sale. Many months in the works, it
was a full week, "daylight to dark", leading up to the sale, and
Vickie Killeen and Anne Brown mustered the energy to pull it all
together. An army of HCMG volunteers arrived at 7 am to do
some last minute grooming, carry the plants from the greenhouse,
pot yard, and shadehouse to the parking lot where they grouped
the plants and organized the markers and information sheets
prepared by Cindy Anderson. And as always, shoppers arrived
early to grab the choice native and adapted plants. |
