The Special Opportunity Garden Project is located behind the Special Opportunity Center, located at 200 S Francisco Lemos St, Kerrville, Texas. We help clients with Intellectual Disabilities and Special Needs learn to garden. We help them learn all aspects of gardening from composting to preparing vegetables grown in the garden for the table. We learn flower arranging, and donate flowers grown in the garden to a local Hospice. Many of our clients need one on one assistance with gardening, while others require verbal cueing, or simple step directions. We assist all of our client gardeners to participate and adapt our methods to meet their special needs.

The mission of the Hill Country Master Gardener Association is to support the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service by providing research-based information and education to the community on the best practices of horticulture and environmental stewardship.
