The Sun might not have shined all day, but the Demo Garden was aglow with color!  Lots of visitors were welcomed by the Demo Garden Committee and other MGs and all had a great time.  Thanks to all who came and those who made it happen!

The following pictures and descriptions are for native and adaptive plants for our area. HCMG periodically rotates plants based on what is seasonally available. USE: Deciduous ornamental shrub prized for purple fall berries
EXPOSURE: Best suited to semi-shaded sites
WATER: Medium
BLOOM PERIOD: Tiny pink flowers in spring followed by huge clusters of shiny purple berries in fall
HEIGHT: 4' - 6'    WIDTH: 4' - 6'

COMMENTS: Birds and all wildlife love the berries; a good food source; flowers on NEW GROWTH, so do not prune in spring; can be pruned by half in the winter to keep compact; native to Texas
