Hill Country Master Gardenersdo need 10 hours of Continuing Education (CE) to recertify each year, and that requirement is set by the Texas Master Gardeners Assocation, Inc.
You must complete:
10 hours of Continuing Education (CE)
25 hours of volunteer service (the standard annual volunteer requirement)
Both must be logged in the official volunteer management system (VMS) to maintain active certification.
What Counts as Continuing Education?
You have a lot of flexibility. CE can come from:
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension–approved classes or webinars
Local Master Gardener association programs
State or regional gardening conferences
Horticulture workshops, lectures, or field days
Online courses related to gardening, botany, soils, water conservation, pests, etc.

The mission of the Hill Country Master Gardener Association is to support the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service by providing research-based information and education to the community on the best practices of horticulture and environmental stewardship.
