Opal B. Roberts Landscape of Hopes and Dreams, Junction
Opal B. Roberts Landscape of Hopes and Dreams: Junction, TX. The Opal B. Roberts Landscape is a memorial landscape to remember an exceptional teacher and is located in front of the Junction Middle School, where she taught. Scott Richardson, who was mentored by Opal and manages the landscape, coordinated it's development and brought in Billy Kniffen, TX-Agrilife Rainwater Specialist to design it. The initial construction was done by community and HCTMN volunteers under Billy Kniffen's leadership. The site has seven rain gardens and over forty native plant species. Currently, HC Master Naturalists volunteer at the site and welcome volunteers from HC Master Gardeners to assist in this project. To learn more follow Opal B.
